Academic research on philanthropy is most often conceived based on scholarly interests, which may have little correlation to the practical realities of those working on the ground in global growth markets. Following the launch of the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy (CSP) report entitled ‘System Change in Philanthropy for Development: A Research Framework for Global Growth Markets’ in May 2022, in collaboration with the Arab Foundations Forum and other key international partners, the Centre has embarked on regionally focused convenings to explore and address specific philanthropic needs occurring in each core market.
This second instalment in our ‘System Change’ series looks to further expand existing dialogues on philanthropic research and key findings in the MENA region.
The panel will be moderated by Dr Shonali Banerjee – Research Associate, CSP and and Naila Farouky – CEO AFF.
Guest speakers include:
• Clare Woodcraft – Fellow of the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy and former CEO of Emirates Foundation
• Myrna Atalla – Executive Director of Alfanar
• Abdelrahman Nagy– Director of Learning and Strategy at Sawiris Foundation for Social Development
• Natasha Ridge – Executive Director of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research
