Philanthropy Sharing Session: Health Philanthropy Funding Innovation
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of philanthropic funding for the health sector has increased. One that can be used as a benchmark is the use of crowdfunding to raise funds for COVID-19 assistance. Through crowdfunding, various parties such as philanthropic institutions, public figures, influencers, communities, etc. can raise funds. This condition does not only occur in Indonesia, globally, funding for health philanthropy has increased since last year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, 32% of social sector organizations relied on crowdfunding in Indonesia, and more than 80% plan to use it in the future.

Given that the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic still takes a long time, funding from philanthropy for health is still needed in the long term. However, philanthropic institutions must also start to be aware of thinking about sustainable funding after the pandemic is over.

The Health Philanthropy Cluster Sharing Session in June is here for various information related to funding innovations for COVID-19 carried out by philanthropic institutions. In addition, this activity will also explore the potential and challenges of philanthropic institutions in obtaining funding for health programs in Indonesia.
