As governments around the world grapple to take action against climate change, every single one of them has a powerful and untapped tool at their disposal: public procurement. With a $13 trillion global procurement marketplace in the balance—which alone is responsible for 15% of all greenhouse gas emissions—it is not simply an option to change the status quo of government contracting. It is an urgent necessity.
