The African Philanthropy Conference is an annual gathering of the continent’s leading philanthropic institutions. It is a platform for sharing of experiences, collective reflection, as well as the curation and development of philanthropic and social investment practices of the content’s people and partners.
Over the years, African Philanthropy has been synonymous with the acceleration of policy related interventions for the development of the continent and the wellbeing of communities and citizens. Recently, particularly in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a surge in the assessment of the relevance of African Philanthropy, and the impact that it has on the continent’s development agenda.
The discussions at the conference will centre on how African philanthropy is navigating beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, by specifically focusing on climate change, youth and technology. The conference is expected to yield systems change frameworks for an agile and receptive practice of philanthropy in Africa.
